ARTISTIC BIOGRAPHY – MIAMI 2010

      A very young Vicky Roig appears in the Musical World at its arrival to the United States ,
setting

her residence in Miami . From that moment on, her vibrant and unique style conquers the
country’s

Latino population captivating the public with her fresh and youthful voice and presence.
Vicky has a very special way of playing the piano and saying the song with a silky deep
voice, infusing a tender yet voluptuous feeling into her audience, making shine the
Caribbean Sun. Born in Cuba, a brilliant pianist at a tender age, is attracted to the Artistic
World very early in life. Once in Miami , Vicky’s strong will to conquer the public, gives
fruits from the earliest stages as a pianist, singer and entertainer. Progressively her
performances are succeeding until becoming truly spectacular.

      With the creation of “ESTRELLAS EN MIAMI”, the first Television Latino Show of Florida,
Vicky stars in it showing her talent in the company of the most famous Latin celebrities in
the USA. After two years in the air, Vicky is awarded the title “MISS TELEVISION”, bestowed
on a Latin Artist for the first time, nicknamed by the Media as “THE TEMPESTUOUS WOMAN
OF THE SPECTACLE”. Miami is the core of her success. Hotels like “The Fontainebleau ”, “
Eden Rock”, “ Deauville ” and “The Everglades ” take advantage of her talent (she can sing
in five languages) for long periods of time. Legendary artists – Frank Sinatra, Joe E. Lewis,
Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jackie Gleason and El Gordo Porcel – present Vicky in their
concerts and TV shows.

     The name of Vicky Roig becomes highly popular in Latin America , performing in
Concerts, Radio,

Television, Motion Pictures and Night Clubs in many of the continent’s countries. Perú
awarded her

a First Prize in FESTIVAL DE LA CANCION DE ANCON; in Venezuela starred in the TV show

“MI TIA Y YO”, the “most watched TV show of the country” for a consecutive three year
period,

also appearing as a “guest star” for two years in the “EL SHOW DE RENNY OTTOLINA”, the
number one Show in Latin America at the time; México, with the mentorship of Mario
Moreno “Cantinflas”, presents Vicky as the Opening Celebrity of Raúl Velasco’s TV show
“SIEMPRE EN DOMINGO”, number one in Mexican television,  “guest starring” in numerous
motion pictures. Also Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua,
Honduras, Ecuador y Chile have celebrated and

cheered Vicky’s performances. As an international recording artist and entertainer, she
signs a contract with CHANDRIS CRUISE LINES starring in the Middle East and Euro-Asian
cruisers show-rooms performing – seen for the first time – wit a new style of “Latino with a
European Twist” combination

driving the public to standing ovations. At her return she participates as Guest Artist of the
FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE LA CANCION DE NEW YORK at the Carnegie Hall in 1990.

     Back at home in Miami , media, producers, colleagues and friends welcome her return
with joy and

respect. A successive chain of concerts, recordings and musical shows emerge in the
following years.

At the peak of her artistic career, Vicky Roig appears as a TV producer, director and artistic
journalist with the creation of her shows “EL MUNDO DE LA MUJER” y “EL SHOW DE VICKY
ROIG”, drawing large audiences for more than four years.

  2010 has been the culmination point for Vicky Roig, a most prolific recording artist and
the recipient of many Awards and Honorific Mentions, however, the most precious for her
and the one closer to her heart is the recently honor bestowed on her by the UNIVERSITY
OF MIAMI – INSTITUTO DE ESTUDIOS CUBANOS Y CUBANO-AMERICANOS : “GREATEST
LEGENDS OF THE CUBAN MUSIC”,   a historical nomination for posterity. Several new CDs  
offering a wide anthology of her lifetime works – on top of the numerous recordings
produced throughout her long career – have been lately produced and are all available.
